We acquire things—homes, cars, clothes, gadgets—not just to meet our needs, but to shape how others see us and how we see ourselves. But here's the twist: the very items we work so hard to own often end up owning us. This is the irony of possessions. The Pursuit That Never Ends At first, getting something new brings a rush—a sense of accomplishment, pride, even joy. But that feeling fades fast. What was once exciting becomes ordinary.
